About
Firefox Stats is an independent analytics view of the Firefox extension store: daily users, downloads, ratings, versions, requested access and risk in one place.
What the site shows
- Daily users and weekly downloads for every extension in the catalog.
- Change over 7 and 30 days, plus rankings of the fastest growing and declining extensions.
- Rating, number of ratings, version and release history.
- Requested access and a risk score from 0 to 100.
- Extensions that were removed from the store keep their last known figures.
How the figures are calculated
Daily users and weekly downloads are shown as published by the store. Change over a period is the difference against the nearest value on that date; if the history is shorter than the period, no change is shown — the field is never filled with a zero. The rating is the published average, unadjusted.
The risk score sums the weight of requested access (full weight for required access, a quarter for optional) and adds factors: data collection declared by the developer, missing privacy policy, delisting from search, experimental status. Range is 0 to 100. Broad access is not a verdict — it is a reason to read the details before installing.
An extension is marked as abandoned when its last update is more than a year old.
